Paddle the San Joaquin River

The Paddlesport Camp 2013

The Paddlesport Camp is not your traditional summer camp. Most of a camper’s time will be spent on the water in canoes, kayaks, and standup paddle boards. Campers will be taking instructional courses sanctioned by the United States Canoe Association and the California Department of Boating and Waterways.They will receive certificates upon the completion of their courses. Campers will learn basic water safety and paddling skills and rescues. They will also have the opportunity to go on an 8.5 mile river trip. Read More.
 

Stand Up Paddling is Catching On

 
The popularity of Stan Up Paddling has spread around the globe.  Even here in the San Joaquin Valley people have discovered a new way to explore local lakes and rivers.  You may have seen folks over on the coast or in a Hawaii on those stand up paddle boards  and thought it looked fun.  It is-and you don't have to travel very far to give it a try.  Read More.

The San Joaquin River Stewardship Program is a regional boating safety center as part of a program funded by the California Department of Boating and Waterways. The Department of Boating and Waterways funds boating facilities, boating safety education and supports boating law enforcement in California. A portion of Program equipment is provided by the Department to enhance boating safety education in California.
